requirements for a 3.1
requirements for a 3.1
Ok soo I've seen allot of threads about running 2.9,2.8 pully but nothin about the 3.1.i will be planning to run the 3.1 my questions are what cooling mods will I need to run and the reason for the 3.1 is to stay more conservative and also there's is only 91oct around here I will have to travel 30 miles for e85 and the close 93 Oct is about 20 miles out can any one help
you dont need the higher octane to run the smaller pulley, we do it because the tuning can be more aggressive. You can pulley down to w.e size you want on 91, you just wont see the same #'s as you would on 93 thats all.
opt B is a good thing to have. Front mount/griffen h/e are also good.
They are not needed though, all they do is help in recovery of temps. An aeroforce interceptor is the best thing to have. With the gauge you can monitor tons of things and then mod from there.

A 3.1 pulley is basiclly GMS2 territory... 42 lb injectors and a tune will get you going.
Exhaust modifications will help even more.

You can hit 300 with nitrous on a gm stage 3 kit like I have..great kit! Smaller than 3.1 pulley and PCM controlled nitrous and a high octane mode..adj rev limiter as well..packed with good features but tuned to run on 93 but could maybe get away with 91..exhaust wise ur good to go

Nope, it's not.
Lots of factors affect injector pw.
I'm pushing the 42's harder than anyone on here, and I still have a consistent air/fuel ratio throughout the pull (7.5k + rpm). No lean spikes or signs of a static injector. It's been that way for over 5 years now.
My car is proof that they are good to 300whp plus. 42's with a 2.9 on your standard run of the mill setup will be fine. Just keep an eye on the a/f rato.
Funny how Time Attack ran the gm 42's, made close to 400hp with nitrous, and ran to 8000rpm with no issues. Yet.... everyone on here says they are no good.
To be exact it is a 76mm or 2.992".... 3.0" = 76.2mm. Splitting hairs of course, lol.
A GMS3 pulley to a 2.9 pulley is hardly a difference (I know I've tested multiple sizes).
PM me if you would like to know some details on how to make 300whp safely.
