I know the B&M comes with better bushings but I like the look of the Hurst better.

I think that the B&M with its bushings has the upper hand in performance but the hurst gots the looks.

Don't get me wrong, it works great...beefy, shorter solid shifts... but, the finish
I'm going to modify the top screw (just below the knob) next spring to accept my old Hurst T-Handle
that will be cool

B&M is better performance. Hurst is better looking. B&M FTW

I know from what the companies say themselves that the B&M claims to have shorter throw.

B&M is the better of the 2 ......but they both just barely qualify as an improvement over stock . My B&M is quite modified

I feel my HURST was a huge improvement over stock....
the factory unit felt fragile compared to the HURST...

what did you do to your B&M?

I guess maybe my opinions are based more on what Im used too . Even with the aftermarkets , yes it does feel much more substantial and positive due to the beefier stick , but it still feels horrible imo . The throws arent that reduced , its still very wobbly and clumsy . To both B&M and Hursts credit though , most of the problems are the design of stock shifter base and the cables .

I was able to improve my B&M greatly by simply making it shorter . I got rid of the reverse lockout , so I could cut off about 1.5" ....then rethreaded the end . The end result was enuff to make me happy . The shift travel is greatly reduced and the feel is much firmer going thru the gears .

Im probably an extreme case in my opinions with the shifter , most seem to be happy with it .

got a pic of the shortened unit? I bet it looks good.... and I know, it makes a big difference if done correctly (not too short!, it's gotta feel right)
