Backseats???

backseats.... how do you get them out! I can't seem to get them out, they move and stuff but is there a bolt or something that holds them in? I trying to lighten my car for the track tonight, I've already shaved close to 70 lbs off the weight, backseats should push me over the 100lbs mark.

its easy un hook the back of the ass part then the front part of it push down and towards the front of the car. gotta get it out from the hoole. reach your hand underneath and you can see. as for the back part pull the lever where the hex nut it and they sliude out.

That did you take out to lose 70-100lbs?? Spare tire and jack and back seats? That's not 100 is it?

In my Sunfire GT i gutted the entire car...even the rear seat side panels and deck lid and trunk liner and it was all less then 100.

I took out the all the floor mats, all the center console panels, spare tire, jack, all the trunk liner, both parts of the back seat, and a couple little panels in the dash. I didn't get accurate measurments but it added up to something like 80 lbs or around there, not sure really half assed the weighing part, most of the stuff I was partially holding up cause it wouldn't stay on the scale.

The spare tire alone was like 38 lbs though and the jack was 8 so thats like 46 lbs right there.
