Belt slip

There shouldnt be any belt slip with a 3.0 pulley should there? An Intense 3.0? I have a billetflow right now and im going to go down to a 3.0 for a little extra hp/tq.

with the stock belt - Yes a 3.0" pulley will probably slip. Go to crateenginedepot and buy the stage 2 belt under cobalt performance parts.

So should I shoot for the belt or the tensioner pulley? Any which way better?

After I installed my 3" pulley, at about 6000 rpm I could hear the supercharger start to waiver, which I assumed was belt slip.

So... some people get slip some don't. I would say safe bet is to say you will get slip. If you aren't planning on going lower then a 2.8" pulley you can just get the belt and don't need the tensioner. If you plan on going smaller then 2.8" pulley in the future then I would just get the adj tensioner so you won't have to buy one later on.

you can also prevent slip with a 76 mm tensioner if you dont want to buy a belt. 2.9 pulley with tensioner here...no slip.

Get the belt because after a while the belt will stretch a bit and is more likely to slip.
