Bent over by dealer for Stage 2 install
I ordered my stage 2 a month ago. Recieved it about two weeks later. Dealer scheduled me for the install today, at 9:00am. Went to the dealer at 5:00pm and they said it wasn't done yet.
According to the service manager, they had a massive problem removing the pulley. Then they supposedly had a problem putting the new one on. They said they had to take it to a metal shop and have them work the inner opening.
I am assuming they are going to charge me for at least six hours. It is hard for me to imagine it taking more than 4 hours, even with a fitting issue.
Oh, well. Once I get the bill I will update the post.

Don't worry guys, if they try to shaft me I'll give a fight. I just wanted to post so others may learn from my mistakes.
There is only two Chevy dealers in the area and neither had done the Stage two upgrades before. I picked the lesser of the two evils.

This is why i do my own work....screw GM techs.
When I got my stage 2 I dropped the car at the dealer @ 8am. I did not leave until nearly 4. The dealer had never done a stage 2 install, they had to make a tool to get the pulley on (or so he said). I was so scared when I left. I found a couple of my husbands friends in town & asked them if everything looked ok. I was only charged 198 or 196. I just never heard of any one making a tool. Car runs great so I am happy. I hope all goes well with your car.
When I had my Stage 2 installed I dropped it off at 7AM and got a rental (also had them do some warranty work at the same time so GM picked up the tab on the rental) and made sure they had already quoted me the price for the job. When I picked it up at 5PM they had just finished and said it took WAY longer then it was supposed to, but since I had it in writing that it was going to cost, I think it was $300 or $315, they bitched a little about how I should have to pay more but couldn't really do much about it. Also get a quote in writing so they can't try and F*** you. Of course it helps to have a fairly honest (and I use honest loosely here) dealership too.

i went in and had mine quoted. with and oil change, tire rotation, and stage 2 kit, it was $910.
i was charged $840 for the kit plus install (+tax). i signed that price b4 they even started. they worked on the car for 4hrs and only charged me an hour for install.
the parts guy tried to give it to me less.... but it didnt clear with the manager. oh well. :P
moral of the story: know what you are buying b4 you commit

i got charged 638 for the kit and only 40 dollars an hour for install (120 bucks) after tax it came out to like 818
i got the cheap install rate because the person who runs the service department is the son of the owner of the dealership and he races a cobalt
the place is pimp too cuz if u buy a new car there you get a 10year/10000mile warranty cuz the owner pays for it lol
so if u live anywhere close you should come this way to buy a new car

Bro the same thing happened to me. They had to keep the car overnight because of the supercharger. They said they wanted to take their time with it. I'm glad they did.
Your install price should stay reasonable. Mine was about $325.00
DAMN... thats why I do it myself... it takes me less than an hour to do a pulley, injector swap and a tune.... (base premade of course)... thats why I'll never go to a stealership

Expect to pay for 3 hours MAX. More than that dont pay. I was charged for three hours but I was there for the whole install so it was well worth it. I kinda thought it was nice, taking the time to show me everything and all (Ive never seen a SC pulley swap like all your pros out there). They did have a hard time getting the pulley off, they had to put it on the press.

I'm really thinking of doing this to my car. I'm still in the air over doing the GM Stage 2 vs an Intense Stage 4 - I'd like the power, but I like my warranty too. I have a brother thats the sales manager at a Saturn delaership, so I think I may be able to get the parts through him at cost or close to it if I go the GM route, then do the install myself at the garage I worked at (still allowed to do my own work there), and then bring it back to the Saturn dealership and get a sweet labor rate on getting the ECM reflashed.

just because they dont know how to do something doesnt mean they should charge you more....
if you get it done at a dealership only go to one that has done it before
