blown turbo or bad oil rings?

well im blowing alot of blue smoke out of my exhaust i did a compression test and i had good compression all throughout the engine so my next step before another complete teardown is to test the turbo for a blown seal on the exhaust side.....does anyone know how to go about doing this?

Do a leakdown test as that will be a better judge for the engine diagnosis. Since you just did the motor and probably are still breaking it in, I doubt it's that. I'd be willing to bet your turbo is the culprit especially if something went through it when you blew the motor.

i dont know cause i used the stock oil rings like it said in the book and i did a leak down test as well but thats not really a good way to see anyway cause it still is only testing compression. but how can i test the turbo to see if i killed it

Either way you'll be taking the turbo and manifold off. Once the exhaust manifold is off you'll be able to tell if its the turbo seals or rings.

If its the oil rings you'll see one of your exhaust ports being fairly wet.
