Bringing the car back down here to my shop tommorrow. Suprisingly a lot of room in the new beetles LOL more than her last one atleast. machine shop said my engine should be done monday or tuesday

 

Cool just give me a holla if you need any help or anything depending on my work schedule. I'll be on vacation from June 21st thru that following Wednesday for CED and to move as I sign on the 14th. got lil over 130 miles on the car today after working out a few little things. Now tommorrow alignment and change the oil. Scared away a cocky M3 when he heard my turbo spool lol

 

LOL gota love car parts in the house. my mom used to freak back in the day when she would come home and i had my motor pulled and sitting on cardboard in my room. thumbs up sir good luck!

 

LOL yeah girlfriend is EXTREMELY happy theres no more car parts in the house anymore. well for now

In for results! Question, how come you didnt go with zzps built motor

 

After I figured out what it would cost, it was a few hundred more for a motor that doesn't have a majority of the coolant passages filled (chicago traffic would not be fun on a hot day), custom made pistons with a better design than the normal flat top pistons available from zzp with thicker rings for more security, a engine completely balanced within a thousandth of a gram to 10,000 RPM and all machine work done by a extremely well respected and experienced machine shop that builds motors and sells them for over 100K. But keep in mind a friend and I assembled my motor rather than paying for a shop to do it for me.

 

i mean not bashing zzp here but they arent the only ones that can build motors
