Thumbs up boost increase!

with a 2007 cobalt ss/sc we installed a AEM cai and methanol injection. the boost stock would stick at 9-9.5 psi. now with these mods it sticks at 12 psi. thanks to all the people that said meth is the way to go!

the water injection is creating the resistance. hence the increased boost.

yea, but some people like to take care of the problems before they happen, not after. it's like somene doing shitloads of traction mods before they do power mods. most people don't, but it's the smart thing to do.

how much of a gain do you feel? changes in boost pressure sometimes aren't huge performance gains, just larger restrictions like area47 said. Are you going to dyno tune or take it to the track any time soon? I think the most i'm going to do is a custom co2 aftercooler spray to get some temps down, maybe a custom icebox and definitely a cobra H/E when I get a job.

without taking fuel out and adding timing, you are not gaining anything.

there is so much power being left on the table right now. take your fork, and stab the steak

we are waiting on an APEXi SAFC II and wideband to tune it ourselfs. i see alot of you guys have your car tuned by someone else and i have asked this question many times before but never get any answers. are any of you using an air/fuel controller of your own?? or does everybody just take it to the dyno and tell the dude with the lap top to make it fast??

as for it pulling harder with the increase in boost. YES it does pull alittle harder but it needs to be leaned out cuz im sure we are runing alittle rich. So there is power to be had. Hopefully this wednesday we can take it to Bandimere for Test and Tune then i can post up some real results.

i listen to the car, and it tells me what to change

i tune my own car basically, i halve 90% of the ss/sc cars in kc done as well. im one of the most conservative people when it comes to modding the maps for the cars. unless stated other wise by the other. or, if it is my own car. i actually advise against the afc idea with anything newer than 95. that is just my opinion

and whats your reasoning behind that?? please explain. why are almost every boosted car using some sort of fuel management?? why WOULDNT you want to be able to tune your own car with such a simple mechanism as turning **** until you get it where you want it??

reason why?
you can control fuel, what are you going to do for the timing side? do you have a way to log what the maf is doing, or anything else for that matter?

pulling fuel adds timing. does the maf sensor control fuel and timing?

i'm sorry, how is pulling fuel going to add timing, do you mean retard timing, because leaning out the car without being monitered can cause predetination, and in that case the pcm will retard timing,

I think....
