Brake Fluid & brake light coming on

Hai guys. What's going on? Got an issue. My DIC is reading Brake Fluid & my brake light is coming on, usually when I hit the brakes, obv. I have added some fluid a few weeks ago. It went away, I guess only temporary, cause they both came back on. I looked in the manual & it says not to add any, that the reason they both come on is because either the clutch system or brake linings or something like that. I don't have the manual in front of me right now, but it does read something along those lines. Has anyone had this issue. If so, what was the result? My clutch doesn't feel like it is slipping at all. Any help would be great guys. I appreciate it.

Feel the reservoir again bump the pedal over and over just keep checking the level as you bump the brake pedal

I'm assuming I have a leak somewhere. Last time it was real low.

Have someone hold the brake pedal down and check all the brake calipers to see if you see brake fluid deeping out anywhere

it says not to add any because as you use your brakes, your pads will wear thinner, and the pistons on your wheel brakes will be farther and farther extended. Through NORMAL use, with NO leaks, the brake fluid level will SLOWLY go down as it moves from the resavour to the pistons. Then when you replace your brake pads after they wear out, you push the piston back in, this pushes the brake fluid back into the resavouir. If you had at any point added brake fluid when you replace your pads, your resaviour will become over filled and you will need to remove some fluid.

If you say your level goes down only a day after adding fluid you most likly have a leak somewhere. Best to fill the resaviour to full put the cap on it. Then, park the car somewhere thats clean, or put clean cardboard boxes down under each wheel and pump the brakes ALOT (Clutch too) Then look and see if you can find where its leaking. Once the leak is repaired, go ahead and fill your resaviour, but KEEP in mind that when it comes pad replacement time you WILL need to drain.
