Ceramic pads are your rotors' worst enemy!!!!!!
They are the hardest pad material you can get. the number 1 determining factor of rotor life is the hardness of the pads. The only reason why you would get ceramic pads is to reduce brake dust. However, you do it at the cost of performance, and at the cost of the life of your rotors.
i use organic or semi metallic pads. they don't last as long and create more dust, but they stop harder and dont wear your rotors as much. I'd rather be replacing pads than rotors anyways. its a lot less expensive that way, and takes less time. some food for thought...

Honestly I've never had a GM car newer than the 80's that didnt need rotors every time it needed pads no matter what pads you used. Not to mention I always see and hear the exact opposite about ceramic pads, carbotech are by far the best pads you can get for most cars off the shelf and they are mostly ceramic pads.

Hawk HPS are some of the best pads you can get for the street. Although pads from the auto parts store are nearly as good. You won't notice a difference unless you road race the car. I just bought some store brand pads from NAPA when i got my rotors there.
A good pad for what? Are you daily driving? Is it trailered to the track? How much do you want to spend?
If you are daily driving I would avoid race pads, and any organic and metallic pads like the plague. They require more heat, are touchy, normally corrosive to your wheels, and in general eat through themselves and rotors like nobodies business. Oh yeah they're loud.
If you're going to the track, EBC Yellow's or the correct carbotech pad for your applicaiton.
If money is no object and you're on the street with it, carbotech street pads, they last forever, your rotors will last forever, they dont dust, they're not an on/off switch like the hawks, and good luck glazing them. Of course thats what you get when you pay 189 dollars per axle for brake pads.
I change my own brakes and I measure my rotors, they always end up half way or all the way to the service limit (depending on car and pads). Then after getting them turned they'd be well below. Of course I'm used to cars with rotors that cost under 20 bucks so it costs the same to replace them as getting them turned.

I suggest you shop delco advantage ceramic pads and rotors, not slotted, but well priced, try CED. good value good stopping power and good overall day in day out performance. did i say inexpensive?
So contact crate engine depot they may be able to help you with delco stuff. I find it very good for the price, certainly works well on my wntr btr, way better than the other cheap stuff.
