brake squel
Warped rotors won't cause brake NOISE. But they WILL cause a pulsing sensation in the car and, depending on the severity, will feel it in the pedal. They will also cause premature wear on the pads. To prevent warped rotors be sure to TORQUE the lugs to 100# in a cross pattern. Take them to 60-70# then to 100#, do them all, then go around one more time. Unless the rotor went on the car new already warped, by using this procedure you'll never have a warped rotor again and you'll get better braking and longer life. Or better yet buy a "torque stick" which limits the torque to the rated amount. They are available in many socket sizes and torque ratings. It's used on your impact and you just ram the lugs home till the stick stops turning. It's bvetterif you tighten the lugs somewhat before torqueing. You'll get 100#, within 10# every time. Personally I like to go around the lugs one time with the torque wrench after the impact. So many shops think the best way to putn a wheel on is to ram them home till the impact stops turning. Possibly 150# PLUS. And they go around once one right after the other. This is my experience and with the knowlege of many upscale and professional tire and wheel installers. It works!
