Brakes for the Cobalt...

Do the base cobalt, and SS/SC share the same brake pad sizes, etc? I had HAWK performance pads on my SE-R and really liked them and would like to pair them with my new rotors for my SS. I am curious to know if the ones listed here

http://www.hawkperformance.com/parts...d+Parts+%3E%3E

would fit the SS? It doesnt specifically mention which cobalt they are for?

Also, does it make sense to buy just Front rotors w/ front pads and leave the backs alone? I had all my tires off the other day and the backs are like 3/4 pad left, where as the front is maybe got a few weeks left.

I would stick with the stock pads and the GMPP rotors, if you feel the need to upgrade at all. They brakes are awful good...

I've been through the Stillen rotors (garbage), two sets of them, they warp after one race. My stock pads are better for fade resistance than both people I race with who use Hawk pads on one car, and EBC on the other, other 2 actually...

I believe the 2.0 and 2.4 have the same brakes, which are larger diameter rotors in the front than those in the 2.2, and of course, rotors in the back vs. the drums on the 2.2.

My original rotors warped w/ in 3000 miles of me purchasing the car. Whats weird is, they unwarped them selves with time???????? Like I have no problems for the last 8000 miles at all, until now w/ like 0 pad left when I stop hard I feel the whole front of the car shake....

Anyone have experience w/ the Uneek rotors? Are they really worse then stock? I thought the stock rotors sucked *****?

GMPP rotors, arnt they like 100 bucks a piece?

Yes, $100/ea... cheap brakes are not the route to go... warped rotors don't just fix themselves either. It's possible you had a flat spot on your tire, or an uneven alignment or something...

I have raced on the stock, Stillen, and GM Performance rotors... Stillens = teh suck...

Yea, I dont want cheap, but at the same time I dont wnat to spend a grand on brakes as I would rather put that towards HP tuners and other parts

I could have sworn a read a few posts of people who had the Uneek rotors, and said they where awesome. Those arnt stillen's are they? I thought they where another brand?

Whats the difference between stock OEM rotors, and the GMPP rotors?

Would I be better off just buying new pads, and getting my stock OEM rotors cut?

(about my stock rotors being warped. Arround 3000 miles wheen I came to a stop my steering wheel would shake and I could feel bad vibrations when stopping from 60 plus. For some reason this has gone completely away.

I think just a good set of brake pads and having our rotors redone would be the best route.

I don't think anyone has EVER said that they are worse than stock. In fact they say the exact opposite.

Here is what one Cobalt memember had to say about them:
