I have heard from someone that you are supposed to drive it the way your gonna drive it, so it breaks in the way its gonna be used but i damn sure didnt do that. haha

 

Dude, that sucks. I think mine might have been too. I ordered mine on carsdirect.com and the drove it about 150-200 miles to my house for me. I thought they were going to load it on a truck, and drop it off. I was so pissed when that happened. The manual says to break it in for not only 500 miles, but at lower speeds like 30mph. I know for a fact at least that the guy did not drive it at 30mph. Still fking pisses me off.

 

I went ***** to the wall in mine with only 7 miles on it to seat the rings (then i babied it for about 300 miles). my cobalt had 0 mechanical problems

you're supposed to change the oil a couple of times in the first 1,000 miles, to get the metal out of there..
I htink i changed my oil about 5 times in the first 3,000 miles.. each time with less and less metal fragments. maybe 5 times is overkill, but better safe than sorry.

 

Me too...the second day I owned the car I took her up to 151mph.

 

I waited 500 miles but my car had 40 some miles on it alread so you know it was beat for 40 miles straight so it really doesnt matter unless the car has no miles on it when you get it.

 

I got mine with 300 miles, it was the only one in Florida left with what I wanted: LSD and Black Exterior with either Black/Black or Black/Red seats
