Unhappy burnt/worn valve guides

things to prevent it from happening?
dealer called and thats the cause of my misfires.

Lots of things can cause it... low grade fuel, improper fuel air mix, and bad tune all come to mind. Maybe a driver mod?

36-38k for 1 year i used regular, got tuned by psychostevo for a few months
switched to 91 didnt like the way it ran switched to shauns tune.
and i do drive the car hard. driver mod prolly happend climin uphill in 90degree weather. dumb me didnt take time check the oil. but the thing is
the car had surge like all 07 in the begining.

that sucks, sounds like the tune then. Maybe if you would have had a better tune, none of that would have happened.

running low on oil does bad things throughout the motor. what oil were you using?

you didn't say it was just one cyl. And qwik is right, running low on oil will mess things up very quickly.

This probably started it...

Low oil could have only made the problem worse.

but i dont get how can it cause misfires on idle.
the dealer said that they found the guides worn n thats
what is causing to misfire. good thing its covered
under warranty.

the other thing that kills valve guides is constantly buzzing the motor to redline and beyond...especially with lo oil. What brand/grade oil you using?

5 30 is good. unusual for guides to go without some other engine distress from low oil....be happy it is under warranty (fingers crossed) and check oil more often....

only time i checked was after i do an oil change. but it seems unusual
that #2 valve guides is the one thats worn, and that can cause misfires
at idle.
