bwoody cobra he brackets problem
i have mine, give me a call and i can measure it.
BUMP!!!
I need help with this project. I already have everything. I have the BWoody brackets and the Cobra HE. As I want to make sure I get everything right and not screw anything up I thought the brackets would have come with mounting directions. Afterall, TTR's rear sway did and you didn't need them. So, I sent an email to BWoody saying this:
>I recently purchased a set of Cobra heat exchanger brackets for the Chevy Cobalt SS supercharged. I received them today and immediately inspected them. Unfortunately, I did not find a diagram or instructions in the package on how to install these. Upon initial inspection, these brackets seem counter-intuituve. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

>Thanks in advance
Thier reply is what follows:
please search the cobalt or redline forums as these are universal brackets, and each person mounts the differently.
And, my reply:
That's really disappointing to hear. You guys manufactured them. You should provide directions for how you intended them to be utilized, especially since you guys designed them and offer a 2 year warranty. I guess I could always screw up and have you guys warranty them right? You guys designed them to work a certain way. It's obvious with the fact that the insulation tape was already installed. This was the first time I ever bought something from you guys. It leaves me to wonder if I shall do that again. Sorry for wasting your time with essential customer service issues.
So, can anybody here help me? Before replying with something stupid like "use the search function," I would like to inform you that I did that before attempting to contact BWoody about this. Obviously, my search was not satisfactory.
Any help with install pics would be nice. I don't need the mapping of the lines. I already have that diagrammed and figured out.
Thanks in advance.

Not to be a dick but there's a high probability that if you can't figure it out you will probably screw up the hosing and bleeding. Get someone on here near you to help you...just a suggestion.

I already have a class 8 diesel mechanic who has offered to assist and to do it in his shop. If you look in my sig you will see that I have the GM 2pass. I've worked on this thing before. I had an idea of how to do the cooling lines with elbows. He helped me out by recommending pre-bent fabricated hoses to eliminate the elbows and using several brackets. I would like to see a pic of this thing installed with the BWoody brackets. That's all I really need.
The big problem I see is that the L brackets look like they should cradle the HE. However, the insulation foam/tape BWoody used is on the outside of the L bracket and not the inside (see pics from OP at top of page). Hence, the part that seems counter-intuitive.
