Bwoody Motor Mounts
Everyone has a right to their own opinion
Just want to make sure all members were aware that there are many others stating the vibs do not go away quickly on the BWoody. Check out Redline forums and you will see the long term vibs they are having.
We are only stating this as we SUPPORT this forum very well, and want to make sure we can assist all members to help them find the items they are looking for and how they function.

The stock mounts are ment to damping the vibs. Any time you put something solid to hold the engine still, the movement will go somewhere else and it is going to the frame which is causing vibs. So TTR if you claim to have SSMs and there is no vibs then its not a true solid mount.
+1 Stop being pussies!

yeah ummm ok I really don't care what you have to say.......... Oh and yeah i started a thread on RLF to see how many people are pussies and can't take the vibs.

There is more than just vibs associated with SMM. Just because there are more vibs DOES NOT mean they work better, or have less movement. By getting the right bushing design and durameter (hardness) of bushing narrowed in you can optimize both:
BWoody uses an "Off The Shelf" universal Energy Suspension brand bushing. Never design specifically for this application, just used what was avaliable.
Turbo Tech Racing spent 100's of hours testing different durameters of polyurathane bushings, different shapes of bushings etc. We have a bushing that offers minimal vibs and minimal movement. We believe we found the ideal combination of function and form.
Again it shows that Turbo Tech Racing supports the members on this forum and we produce a quality product, not just to sell, but to offer support to the customer and what they want.
What we are getting at is the Turbo Tech Racing mount has been tested and has many hours of research, we just didnt put a bushing in a bracket and call it a Cobalt SMM.

Incorrect, knowledge again!

It is not hard taking 3 SHEARED parts of metal, butt welding them togeting and shoving an off the shelf bushing in it. How can you spend more than one day on that, look at the mount.
Then look at the Turbo Tech Racing mount. That bushing alone, to perfect, took approx 75 hours of cad/testing. That is the focal point in the mount and with out the proper bushing, you dont have a quality product.
Um ok. This is not what this topic was for. I personally do not like these mounts. But that doesn't meanthe mounts are crappy. Just means I do not feel like being in a very shaky car for 3 hours a day!
WOW, that is all i can say.

You know you have a nice design and if you say you have 100's of hours in designing your mounts thats great don't think others don't put just as much into their product, we have spend countless hours on the phone with gm engineers on thrust loads, and how much we needed to angle the mounts forward for proper alighnment of the drivetrain, and designed our mounts on our cad programs created dxf files and sent them to a $750k laser not a shear.
Your design looks nice i've personnally held your mount in my hand, looks identical to the oem side mount except for the poly bushing which prothane makes.

screw all this talk about buying mounts. I just recently filled my tranny mounts with PL premium and yes there are vibes, but not too bad. Shifting is much improved and no wheel hop! $5 mod for the win!
sheared parts? try laser burnt and 100's of hours of research and design, and its not an off the shelf bushing its specifically molded for our application. but then you know what we use correct, i think not. We've been making solid motor mounts for 20+ years! please stop trying to tell everyone how our product is designed when you do not know, we have yet to bash your product, but it seems you constantly bash ours, hmmm wonder why? you hurtin' that bad?

If you don't care about vibes and want a more solid set up it seems like bwoody would be the mounts to go with. If you want a more than stock hold on your engine with a little less vibes go with turbo tech mount. The only thing about the turbo tech mount that I don't like is now they are saying you need the tranny mounts for the mount to work or not wear out. I would of bought them all at once but at the time they did not offer them so I am kind of disappointed.
