i thought i read on cobalt addictions webstie a while back the bumper didnt need to come off, it was only taken off to show what the front mount looks like..

Takin off the font bumper just makes everything easily accessible... you don't have to, but since I'v done it so many damn times.. it only takes me like 5 minutes to remove it and probably 10 min to put it back on

oh yeah you don't have to remove the rad either... I was replacing mine since a certain unnamed person on this site dropped my car off the jack and took out the rad and a/c condesor, I just put that pic up so you can see where the hoses go (braided lines)

anthing to give you more coolant is good... the more fluid the more heat it can absorb out of the laminovas.
