Question CAI Care

I am preatty new to whole Car Modifcation. But i have been reading around and with alot of the Basic CAI .

It says" Intake System is a performance product that can be used safely during mild
weather conditions. During harsh and inclement weather conditions, you
must convert your Cold Air Intake System to a short ram configuration, or
return your vehicle to the stock OEM airbox and intake tract configuration.
Failure to follow these instructions can void your warranty"

My question is their definition of "inclement weather conditions" ? The Dictionary defines it as
rough, stormy, squally, blustery, severe, bitter, raw, foul, nasty, harsh. But does that really mean everytime we a bad storm i need to chage it or does it mean like inclement weather conditions over a longer period of time. I know this is a very stupid question but for everyone stupid question i ask there is at least a bunch more who have the same question but wont ask it. If you could help out i would be very greatful to you.

Just don't drive through any major puddles and you should be fine. The only way an intake is going to give you trouble is if it sucks water into the engine. Given the general location in the Cobalt this is only going to be problematic with major puddles.

Yea the only way you gonna have trouble is if you go threw a big puddle, submerge the filter and suck in water, other than that your fine.

It is a saftey for them as they were most likely advised by an insurace liability company to have this statement. It helps prevent them for being responsible for conditions their customers put their car though.

I hope this makes sense.
