CAI question

Hey guys, just installed my Injen cai..... everything looks good. no air leaks as far as i can tell. took it for a ride and it runs good, boosts and vacs good. the only thing i noticed that may or may not be bad is, my mpgs are down to like 21 or so it used to be 29. My cousin installed it and hes a mechanic and he says the computer needs some time to adjust. Is that true? havent been really hard on the gas. just installed it about an hour ago. thanks guys for the input.Thats what the computer says anyways. should i be worried?

Did you diconect the batt. after install? If not unhook the ground for 5min and then hook it back up. That will reset the ecu.

No where in the installation manual from Injen does it mention disconnecting the battery. I installed mine about 15,000 miles ago, and have had zero issues with my mpgs being down. Went down to about 17 - 19 mpg for a few days after I first installed, but you have to consider my right foot was pegged to the floor boards every time I drove it for the first week. I consistently read at 29.5 - 32.0 mpgs. Depending on how I'm driving and where I fill up.

^Thanks for that. I'd say about a quarter of what I know about cars I've learned from this site. And definitely all I've learned about F/I came from this forum, and links from people here. Its a great resource for people who need info and for people to share what they know. Not a day goes by that I don't try to get on here and find something new that makes me go, "Ahhh, now I get it." Its fun.
