CAI vs. Motor Mount

Hey guys,

I need some opinions. I'm trying to decide which I should go for right away in my next performance mod. I haven't done too much to my car and I'm trying to keep everything fairly warranty friendly.

I'm torn right now between buying the RAW 3" intake (currently on GB for $220) and the Turbo Tech motor mount. I may be buying both at some point, but if you guys had to choose, which would you go for? Keep in my that I recently completed the airbox mod, so I don't know if the RAW will actually produce any more power.

My car is my daily driver and I still want something that I enjoying driving in on long trips so the drone of a CAI and the vibs from a mount are a little worrisome but right now they seem to have the best bang for the buck in what I'm looking to do.

Opinions???

i think the cai is your best bet man, if your honestly worried about vibs. i personal do not have motormounts, but a bud of mine in town has them... and he has some decent vibs going on. CAI is the best band for your buck.. the whine alone is worth it.

Intakes also don't drone as you said earlier.

DIY mounts and air box mod. Then go buy a h/e with the money you saved. It's all about bang for the buck.

I'd go with the CAI, personally.. it doesn't 'drone' under normal driving, you'll only hear it when you stomp on it.

And you'll love it.

We will get you $25.00 off the TTR mount if you purchase the Injen Cold Air intake at the same time.

PM us for the discount code, valid this week only.

Well TTR is a great company. you should be able to trust them.

I'd say motor mount and K&N or air box mod. Your intakes are decent from factory. The mounts help so much though.

First off, thank you to all for the great opinions. To sum up what I'm hearing from all of you:
  • I should get a CAI if I'm really keen on having loud blower whine when accelerating.
  • The CAI and Airbox mod are pretty much on the same level when comparing actual performance increases (although the CAI is much louder).
  • Motor mounts are the way to go for the extra performance.
  • I can save myself a few bucks if I fill in my stock mounts with Poly and may have fewer vibes.
  • TTR is run by really nice guys and really good salesmen!
  • If I go the DIY way there are better ways for me to use my extra money...
Keep the opinions coming guys!

You can fill the trans bushings only.

All you need is a upper motor mount...it only vibes when you start car and when you take off from a dead stop.

Really it isn't that bad and after they break in the vibes are BARELY and I mean BARELY there.

I would say do the airbox mod and get the TTR upper mount and have both for relatively cheap

do the rebel group buy, you can't beat that deal and it may never happen again, i wish i had waited for this GB because we barely got 10 people on the last one, thats $50 lower than my group buy price and $100 off of the retail.
