dexcool is what GM uses as antifreeze.
its that pink **** in your tank.

50% dexcool 50% water.
you can buy it concentrated, or already premixed as 50/50

No sir, i do believe anOm means 50% dexcool and 50% water, however if that indeed is what he means that is a bad idea, correct me if im wrong but you arent supposed to use anything MIXED with dexcool as it breaks it down and makes it virtually useless. Now im not 100% on this but unless they have changed the formula in dexcool within the last 4 years its intended to be used ALONE, no water. I apologize for any confusion i may have caused if i am wrong.

damn i took too long to type lol

Unless GM has reformulated dex-cool then im almost positive however just a lil helpful hint as soon as you can GET RID OF THE DEX-COOL it is garbage is will cause build-up in your radiator and cooling system and will ulitmately be the cause of all your cooling system repairs such as waterpump, any sort of gaskets that may come in contact with the dex-cool, and it has done this since '96 when GM introduced it, now why they still use it i dont know but this is just my .02 worth.

They still put it in cars because its not the same as it was back in 96 they have changed it so it won't break down and turn into a build up

This is wrong, it should be as anOm said, half water half dexcool. Dexcool was never intended to be used by itself in full strength. The only reason it would gunk up is long term exposure to air or if regular green coolant was added to the mixture. Don't EVER mix the two types of coolants together unless is specifically states on the bottle that it mixes with all colors, all makes, and all models. Hope this helps

yah the eating of seals and such was because people were using the old green **** andthen added or swapped to the newer dexcool and the full green stuff wasnt totally out o fthe system cause of the chemical differences, at work we dont have the greens tuff anymore we use this yellow works for everyone stuff its the same stuff as ford and mazda uses its a univeral stuff, if the car comes with dex we use that obviously. and ya 50/50 is correct. thats what i am using ruffly an i am in ontario,

And a side note. Pre-Mixed DexCool is way more expensive than unmixed...

So just buy the umixed and add the water yourself.

Agreed. They sell the premix quite a bit at my side job because people are lazy and don't want to cut it with water. I would say though the good side to this is you get the filtered demineralized water in the premix versus people putting tap water into the system. It's not horrible to use tap water but it will make the cooling system corrode from the inside out over time.
