If you were to get a 2.9, you could add that to the S2 to balance out the a/f, but don't go any smaller as a 2.9 is close to maxing IDC's (going over max means you're not pumping enough fuel for the amount of air your engine is drawing).
If you want a 2.9 and 60's, you need a custom tune as well as the stage 2 belt (zzp and some other vendors sell em cheap), and to get the S2 and then do this would be redundant, not to mention expensive.
If you're looking for non-warranteed power, I'd get the 60's, 2.8, a Heat Exchanger and possibly meth, and then fix it all up with a nice tune. It'll blow a s2 away.. well maybe not by a huge amount, but you'll be able to pull a s2 easy.

I think you've got it around the wrong way. S2 is a GM package that contains 42lbers, smaller belt, smaller pully, and a canned tune.

Good good, hope it all works out for you!
Oh and if you decide to go S2 with a 2.9, get the S2 from www.crateenginedepot.com and 2.9 from www.smoothflowpulleys.com. Both are supporting vendors on this site.
I'll be getting a 2.9 and S2 in the spring, I have the money for the custom ****, but I still have 5 years and 100k worth of warranty left
