the smaller displacement allows for higher revs, and with the turbo you can sqeeze more power out of the top end of your rev range.

Could you go into a bit more detail on the tune. im sure a lot of LSJ guys will appreciate that if at all possible. Also what size turbo and how much boost is he pushing. I know you dont know yet, but when you are with him, you should ask

You can boost a 2.4 just ot as high but you don't need to cause the larger displacment makes the same power levels and makes more torque. Look what happens with the blower swap from a 2.0 to a 2.4. Boost levels drop due to the larger engine BUT it makes the same hp if not more then the 2.0 does and it makes more tq then a 2.0 running a stage 2 kit. I'm not knocking the 2.0 but remember thers NO replacement for displacment.

if i had a 2.0, i'd definitely go snail power. but since im a 2.4, s/c was cost effective.

true... but only to a certain extent... potential power on the stock 2.0 > far greater then 2.4...

your blower/turbo swaps on 2.4 max out hp range on about what a stage II ss/sc can do.. and thats just starting to touch HP figures in the lsj.. especially if you swapping the turbo.

no replacement for displacement is find and dandy when both motors are at the same level... but these 2 motors are not.. so smaller displacement + built > larger displacement

Vids and multiple engine shots or BAN! I said Ban damnit. I almost feel violated getting teased like that.
I feel like a hot little school girl in a mens prison right now thanks a lot.

Seriously that is pretty cool. I'm very curious to see what numbers that thing puts down.

here's some engine shots, didn't see this thread til now lol.
tried taking a video last nite but my camera shitted out on me.
well for starters running a small turbo right now t-3 super60 just to get the piping, and tuning worked out, switching to either a gt2876 or a gt3076 soon. Kit will be available through cobalt-addiction once everything is finalized. Need to fix a few things though, piping from IC to T.B. was supposed to be 3" but didn't have the right bends at the time so I'm running 2.5" for the week. MAF is pegged early and I'm up to only 16psi right now due to tuning issues with the maf. also need to relocate BOV, guy welded the BOV adapter to the wrong pipe so right now it's after the MAf which is a big No-No car just dumps fuel between gears (which also makes a real nice fireball out the dump tube)
well without further delay here's some pics, new ones will be up once I find my damn digi camera. (oh yeah as for the vid, I blew out my turbo manifold gasket yesterday so it's sounds like ass and spool time is a bit longer, was at full spool at 3k when it was sealed)

stay tuned for more updates.

also i believe the 2.0 is a stronger built engine than the 2.4. It's built for higher HP so it should hole up better to higher HP and boost
