No one here can answer your question with the details you give. My response is that unless they are using a top brand filter and actually using Mobil 1 5W30 (not something that is the "same as"), I would stay away. Your oil and filter is the life blood of you engine and should not be skimped on. I personally do my own oil change for about $38, so they are skimping somewhere if they are doing it for $45.

You could put it in if you don't like your car! LOL! AC DELCO only FTW!

i put **** from walmart in my car. but they sell good filters, even though i get them at my old work for almost free. I still buy my mobil 1 at wally world. they sell big jugs and it really cuts down costs.

for 42 bucks the "same as" is probably just the real cheap walmart synthetic [assuming it is synthetic they actually use] and the filter is just the cheap walmart brand.

id say no go on teh walmart oil change but if you do make sure you check the oil level cause these cars take 6ish

also check to make sure all of the bolts are tight

What would pro union have to do with anything?

I buy my oil from walmart, a jug is only 21 bucks for mobil1. Saves a lot. The only oil filters I saw at walmart last time were FRAM, but they may have Super Tech or whatever the off brand is. I'd say buy the oil yourself and either take it to the dealer (should be cheaper) or do it yourself.

I paid about $70 for my oil change, I bought the oil and filter, and was planning on doing it myself, unfortunately, I do not have a garage and my driveway is not level. So I took it to Pep Boys and watched them as they did the oil change.

I went to Advanced Auto to get my oil (I don't live near a Wal-Mart) along with the best Purolator filter (I will not buy Fram) for a total of ~$52 for 7 qts. and the filter.

They don't carry the jugs of Mobil 1, so it cost me $5.88/qt. plus the best Purolator filter was just over $8.00

I think I'll just buy 2 jugs of Mobil 1 from Wal-Mart next time (the **** has a shelf life of 5 yrs) and buy AC Delco filters online. I should save a little money that way.

I would be leery of wal-mart. I have had some oil changing problems with them in the past with my old car. Problems like forgeting to put the oil cap back on one time, and somehow spraying oil all over the engine another time.
I have refused to ever take the 'balt there period!

I took my Ford Ranger to walmart once, well my mom did, an hour and a half passed that they had it in. Then they called us and told us they couldn't do it because my "drain plug came in stripped" so we took it to the dealer were we got it and they replaced it for free, but told us walmart fucked it up...what a suprise

And at work (a chevy dealer) our Synthetic Oil Changes are 90 bucks

I think it falls under the same category as Wal-Mart.

Minimum wage teenagers who've never so much as removed a valve cover, let alone know what a torque wrench is, handling the life-blood of a supercharged 4 cylinder.

Something just doesn't seem right with that idea.

dude wtf is up with people wanting to save money on getting a oil changed....

its a freaking 20 thousand dollar car and you are risking the life of it just to "save money"

if u dont give a **** about your car then go ahead but especially for the people who put mods on their car and want reliability y the hell would you put a certain type of oil in just to save money

just like this guy i saw with a brand new corvette told the service people just to put the cheap stuff in

im sorry i use amzoil racing oil and im not saying its the best im just saying if you give a **** about your car use something that you know is good first then search for a lower price later
