And that is because every single car is different, everyone reacts different to the tunes! Find someone good with HPT and get it done that way, you'll be glad you did seriously you will spend "possibly" less money and have a much more reliable car than those kits!

I agree. But my personal preference would be 2.9 or 2.85.
Different strokes for different folks. I'd stay away from aftermarket 'stage' kits and canned tunes.

Nate (Smooth Flow Pulleys) hub with a 2.85" or 2.9" pulley
42# injectors
GM Stage 2 Belt

All can be had for about $350 new. Add on a custom HPTuner tune to that and your golden. Just from seeing all the problems people have had with them, I would stay away from the 60# injectors. 50# would be the biggest I would go.

Hey dude, never get an intense tune. I have seen so many cars blow up due to the way their tunes are set up. Their maps are way off. You can ask anyone Intense may be good for parts, but when it comes to tunes don't put one of theirs on unless your ready to blow number #4.

i highly recommend against CA stage 3. i had it and went to the dyno. i put out a pathetic 225 hp 220 tq. the reason being that i was running a 10.0-10.3 a/f ratio and didnt know it till i went to the dyno. custum tune for the win. i would just get a 2.7 or 2.8 pully with 60's and a custum tune much more power. but hey at least i was running around pig rich rather the dangerously lean like some people ik with the tag kits

Well in the first thread you posted and said that you wanted a reliable stage kit. I vote for GM Stage 3 . I have been running it for 6 months now . No problems(knock on wood)....and you can run a 50 dry shot SAFELY...

if they custom tune his car it will be very expensive, i just had mine custom tuned by a friend, wickedss2005, and if i get more mods he just makes a few changes and im good to go, plus he makes updates on my tune all the time... i only spent round 200 for a custom tune

my question is this.
if your getting custom tuned anyway (a VERY good idea)

why by a kit in the first place?

just buy the parts separately. it will be cheaper. and youll get the same end result.

x2

I'll tell you the same thing that I tell everyone else about "Stage Kits", my feeling is that your better off making your own.

stage 2 injectors, 2.8, belt, stg 2 GM reflash from someone, full mounts, dual pass, h/e, intake, full exhaust. Look on here for used parts and save a bunch of money. Mosy parts are fine getting them used esp the exhaust

Just get the pulley, injectors, and tune it yourself if you're not going S2. The rest of the "stage" kits that are not GM are crap.

i heard good things about intense and aren't they based in Ohio. You could get dynotuned which would be a great benefit than just buying unmetered canned tunes

damn, he probably already got the kit by now.

and yeah, you don't want stage 2 with 2.8 if you're looking to be reliable and wanting to be able to do some hard runs. I have a stage 2 and a 2.9" pulley and i'm getting hot enough IAT2's as it is, i haven't checked my injector duty cycle or AFR, but i'm sure its getting hairy on the top end rpms especially since i have so many supporting mods for higher flow.
