Cant trap over 100mph!WHY!?

Okay so ive been to the track quite a few times best time i have reached so far was a 14.10 at 99mph and i believe it was a 2.3 60 ft. Now I've gone quite a few more since then times range between 14.3-.8 and the mph is always 95-99. Can't for the love of god figure out why Its not over 100. My mods are in my sig. second question would be if i was heat soaked how much would it pull off?

i think you just need to work on your driving and shifting, a car with those mods should not be where some people are stock...

Trifecta tune, theres the problem. Actually how much timing are you running if you know? Seems like your car isnt pulling hard on the top end.

2.3 is correct i try and aim for 2.1 but no mounts makes it hard to accelerate off the line

higher 60ft yields a higher mph if it is due to spinning.

This. I was trapping 102 with a 2.9" pulley and the other mods I have below. Even with a 2.5 60' because I suck at launching.

I see you're in San Antonio - Shoot me a PM if you want me to make your car fast.

Check your IC pump. I was trapping 99 with just catback all day. With a 2.8 and 60's and meth I was trapping 107. You should at least be in the 103-104 range. Make sure you arent shifting slow as well since that could have a lot to do with it too

I don't see how the TF tune is the problem. I know of 2 cars in tucson both with the TF tune, and one with less mods than the op. They are both 104+MPH (One is 106MPH) trapping cars, and in higher altitude. You need a good datalog and retune.

Going into 2nd sounded kinda off, but it doesn't sound like driver error.

I'm going down to the track tomorrow and if you show I can check your pump for you, but I'm guessing your tune is running pretty conservative timing, or way too much. I scanned some HPT logs from Trifecta tuned kids, and they tend to have pretty vicious knock. >_>

It could also be the fueling, as the SS/SC doesn't come with a wideband so Trifecta can't log it.

shifts are definitely quite slow. you said 2.3 60' time right?? heres one of my runs 2.3 60' time, and i mean yeah a 13.88 still sucks for 273whp. but its definitely not in the 14s lol. only difference between our mods(besides brands and i don't have a Trifecta tune) is that i don't have the dual pass but i have meth.

First, I would get a different tune. If you can't get a custom tune, get the OTT pcm. I have their tune with the timing tweaked, and the car runs good. Have never had it at the track yet though.

Second, your shifts are super slow!

Go get a custom tune man, trifecta tunes are a waste of money.

first of all..trifecta is NOT a waste of money.

second...your 60' has nothing to do with your mph.
your 60' will affect your final ET but not your mph, as long as you are topping out 3rd gear your mph will be the same, traction mods, mounts, and shifting will NOT change this............
but just to help you feel better, my all motor cavalier traps 100mph .. might wanna do some data logging

...except for that his 60' times are consistent with his ETs, and his ETs are consistent with his mph's..

But his MPH isn't at all consistent with his mods and how much power he should be pushing.

correct. and if his MPH was correct for his mods, then his ET's would be off which means HE is consistently messing up the run somewhere. but the fact that the mphs, the ETs, and the 60' times match up. says theres something else going on..

If he was granny shifting and pushing the appropriate amount of power for his mods, he'd have worse times and a higher MPH (like I do). Since everything lines up, it indicates the driver is doing fine, but car is just putting down less power than it could be.
