driving home today from the mall my car completly droped on its face at a stop i would try to give it gas to go and it would not go had to push the peddel to the floor to get it to 2K rpm then shiftin into second and pushing the gas it would make a weird noise ( hard to expalin it) and into 3ed it would completly fall on its face and not go no were....

then at a stop i would give it some gas and the rpm would go up but the enginge did not want to respond...

got home turned the car off got my dad to take it out too see if he had any though ton what it could be but it was fine then...

anyone have this happen to them or know what it could of been

all i have done to my car is the injen CAI

 

check all the connects on the cai... sounds like an air leak... loose mass air... or dirty mass air

 

im stepping out so i will respond to anyones question on my problem i'll respond later.

hope someone has an answer for me because i have no idea why it did this...

the only thing i could think of is the fuel filter had something wrong with it, or the computer was messed up and was not sending info the the pump... who the hell knows now that its not doing it i have no proof to bring it to gm so they can take a look at it...

 

the intake been on for 2 months now... but i will sheck it jsut incase it poped off for some reasson

 

oh and the car would jump when drivieng at a slwo speed the car would joilt for no reasson...

 

It sounds like your car went into limp mode. Did the DIC read Power Reduced or give you any indication that something was wrong? The main cause I seem to remember for this was an overheating manifold...I can't remember everything else off the top of my head though.

Yah it happend to me the tach drops off the face of the earth but every other gauge works just fine and the car wants to go nowhere. I just shut the car off for like 10 minutes and it starts up just fine.

were you using shitty gas? pretty much you cant go lower than 92 octane

 

yes you can. i never put 92 octane in my SS any more. ($3.24 today getting a lil retarted) but my car runs fine.


this also happend to my car, about 2 months after i got it. (and it was on 93 octane gas.)

 

nothing came up on the dash and i use 93 oct all the time... im heading out right now so im going to see if it does it again ...

 

check your trottle conncection to the throttle body, our is electronic "drive-by-wire"... the clip probably shook loose, it would explain alot

 

well after driveing it today nothing happend... weird..
