Car only runs with CPS unplugged. Why?
For starters i had the #3 spark plug blow out. So i pulled the head and had it fixed. Since the head was off i did a new timing chain also. I got it all put back together and it ran fine but started hard and threw a p0340 code (cam position sensor circuit malfunction). Turns out i forgot to plug it back in. So i plugged it in and now the car wont start. Unplug it and it starts.. Any ideas??

Pull the CPS out and turn the little hex end a little bit then put it back in. One position it will not start at all, some positions it will start after 5-6 seconds of cranking, one position it will start every time but throw the code, and one position it will start every time right away and not throw any codes. When you test it make sure you start it up a few times because if you reset the code it will usually start almost right away the first time.
Its a pain getting to the 2 bolts every time but it can be done in a few minutes.
In short, it goes in 6 ways...but one is right.

Hmmm... Read about this a few times and tried it, but my car will not start at all with the CPS unplugged. And think it should after >10 seconds cracking...
Can that be a difference in Operating Systems? My car runs a Stage 2+ tuned Ion 2004 pcm with some DTC's turned off. Maybe something with the CPS/cranking is turned off too much; as in "3-no rerror reported" and the pcm does not detect a fault? (which DTCs can that be?)
Think it still should detect the non starting and switch ignition to the other cylinder. Confused...

I just did that and so far it works. Well at least it starts with the CPS plugged in. It still throws a code tho.
