What is coolant Trabec?

Ding Ding Ding!

You my friend have a blown headgasket. Stop driving the car immediately and salvage your engine. Now that coolant is entering the combustion chambers bad stuff can happen a whole hell of a lot easier. You need to pull the head, have it resurfaced, and install a Cometic Gasket and Headsteads. Make sure to take a good look at the pistons and cylinder walls while you're at it.

Someone popped a HG or IMG........If you popped a piston your car would sound like a WRX, literally.

Not sure on that one. My headgasket blew with just GM Stage 2, an intake, and exhaust. I just happen to have real bad luck I guess. I'm also not at all saying GM Stage 2 tunes are any good either though.

You should be good. I just have horrible luck most of the time with cars. They fight me tooth and nail until I break them down and enforce my authority!

Area, "I would like TheRapist for $500!" That's therapist...

oh thats just freaking great. thanks for the info and help guys. i guess the SS will be sitting a couple of weeks so i can save up the money for the parts. maybe i can get my head ported & polished while i have it off, does that sound like a good idea?

2K5SS/SC?.....how much did it cost you for everything? i saw that the gasket is like $95, but what about that other parts?

so would you say that the tune could of done this?

Oh I know this all to well. Engine number 1 in the Cobalt let loose while driving at like 30mph to work one morning. Something in the top end let loose and destoyed the head, cams, and it all went below after that. All I had then was a Injen intake too! I tell you I have the shitty luck, and I'm not lying!

It could be the tune or the weak headbolts. I can't really tell for sure. It's happened to a few people on here, but I was by far the least modded when it happened to me.

All in all it cost me like $90ish for the headgasket, $120ish for the Golden Eagle headstuds, and another $90 to have the head disassembled/resurfaced/and resassembled at the machine shop. I did all the work myself which saved a huge chunk of change though.

Porting and Polishing would be good. If you're gonna do that though you might as well get the cams, valvesprings/retainers, neutral balance shafts, and possibly pistons while you're at it. I was broke when it happened to me, so a gasket and headstuds was it.

what should i say to the shop that tuned me? i dont want to go assuming they screwed my car up. do you think the warranty will hold up or do you think the dealership would void me because of all the stuff i have done? i would love to get the top end done but i dont have that type of money so i'll probably just do the gasket & headstuds like you did. i guess if i can keep this under $300 i'll be ok with that considering i can do alot of the stuff myself.

I don't know how the shop will handle it. You can always talk to them nicely and ask. As for the stealership, I think you're pretty much hosed on that end.

i honestly dont know what was being said about them tuning 60s, but he has always done them and everything was perfectly fine saturday on my way back home and that was a 2 hour drive.

only one of my plugs were completely covered in black, i ended up putting my old plugs back in, which are 2 step colder plugs. i put the new plugs in saturday before i got dyno tuned.

you really think so? everything seemed perfectly fine before and a few days after. i actually hope your right cuz i dont want to go throwing the blame on Matt. him and his crew are really good guys and i plan on going back up. i'm just very annoyed at this whole thing, running fine one day and then all screwed up the next. tonight when i get home i'll be going to work to figure out exactly what it is.
