Well the other day I was driving and as soon as I hit boost I heard the most god aweful sound coming from my car. After I stopped I got under the car and noticed that there was a terrible rattle in the cat. Well I remember me getting a recall letter in the mail just like some of you but I lost the damn thing. Anyhow, I called the dealership and told them my problem and they said that they haven't heard anything about the cat recall failure on my 2007 cobalt but they said I was still covered since there is a 80k mile warranty on the cat. So I go in tuesday to drop my car off. I got a feeling they are going to try to find other things wrong or fix other things like my camshaft position sensor. Should I tell them not to worry about that just fix whats under warranty?

 

It's not a recall its an extended warranty basically. They call it a special coverage item tell the dealership that and they can look it up

 

Yep, had mine replaced last week, no charge.

 

Well the kept my car all day then I called them to get an update and they told me to pick up the car and that they would have to order the cat.

 

They can't fix anything that's going to cost you out of pocket without notifying you first, lol.
