CBM Billet Water Neck

Has any body fooled with one of CBMs Billet water necks? If not what is the deal with that solid tube running from the pump to the t stat housing? Is it just an o- ring tube pushed on at each end? Do they leak when you mess with them? I'm wanting to free up the flow and get rid of the spaghetti of hoses around the t stat. I probably don't need a thermostat on the sand car and the heater is bypassed so this looks like it may be a nice mod.

I'm on the fence because I'm afraid that tube may be a PITA making this mod not worth it. Has anybody ever pulled that tube apart from the housing?
