Unhappy CEL came on.....fml

well, heres the scoop, my car is an 07 ss/sc, no engine mods at all, bone stock in those terms, anyway, ive had the car since the end of january, and love it, car runs and pulls good, i treat it good and dont beat the crap out of it

friday night i was driving home from work and conveniently enough as soon as my oil life hit 25% the CEL came on, just wondering if these cars turn the CEL on at 25% oil life or might there be something else going on? the car still drives fine, no loss in power, but i have noticed a slight gas mileage drop, im going to go see the dealer tomorrow if i can get off work in time to get it put on a code reader

thoughts?

I'd say get the code read first off to find out exactlly what it's throwing. My ss/sc don't throw a code @ 25% oil life. Autozone or anywhere like that can read the code for you too, not just the dealer.

Gotcha. Don't know how long you've had your car but these cars throw codes if you breathe on them the wrong way .

Check and/or replace evap purge solenoid and the first two should be gone. The misfire and O2 sensor codes I've never really had to deal with.

probably just a maf code, especially if there was a drastic change in temp.

-clean the maf with contact cleaner
-evap purge solenoid is uber easy. your warranty wont cover it because its an emissions item and not a powertrain item, so do this one yourself -takes 5 minutes
-spray your o2 sensors with some contact cleaner.
-remove and inspect spark plugs - you can post pics of them if you dont know how to read them.

Emissions warranty is the longest of the 3, just FYI. Bumper-to-Bumper expires first, then powertrain, then emissions.

Emissions is either 8/80k or 10/100k and evap purge and vent valve are common issues on most vehicles no matter the make or model.

cheap fixes though generally

As for these codes, replace the Evap Purge Valve or Evap Vent Valve.

P0138, check for frayed wires on the rear 02 sensor, bad sensor or modified downpipe.

P0300 will likely go away when you fix the evap system and DP issue.

Whoever "they" is can get "them"selves in a lot of trouble.

vvvv It's that. It's 10 years/100,000 miles
