CEL Codes
CEL Codes
Well to start off, happy Thanksgiving everyone.
So I came home from school last night (3.5 hour drive) and everything ran and seemed fine. Didn't do any sort of hard or aggressive driving.
Went to start it up to head out for a bit last night and it took 5 or 6 tries to get it started.
I went and pulled the codes this morning and I'm getting.
P0340-Camshaft position sensor
P0017-Crankshaft position correlation
Everything I've found on here comes with a plethora of other codes and it has always seemed to be another issue.
I'm going to check all the wiring connections here in a bit.
I'm leaning to a bad sensor or a bad connection as there was no unusual performance or sounds on the drive home.
I'm really glad this happened at home......away from all my tools and more mechanically inclined friends.....
Thanks for the help in advance guys.

Once I can get it in my garage I'll try pulling the sensor and starting it. What would I be looking for it to do?
And if it jumped timing wouldn't that have been something I noticed

It seems to run just fine i only moved it a few feet before shutting it off last night. I didn't want to get stranded anywhere so I just left it at home. The little distance I did move it, it seemed fine, nothing sounded of, nothing felt off. I'm gonna go take it for a short drive now.
So I just got back in. I couldn't get it to enter limp mode as I've read should be happening.
Its weird. It almost sounds like an rc car at times when decelerating and idling. It also sounded like a bad timing chain tensioner, however the tensioner is decently new. Also the idle seems a bit off. I don't know if its because of the codes or not however. The weird thing is that this all seems to go away once the car gets a bit warmer.

Just went out on a short drive. Neither came back on. It still took forever to start so I'm now leaning towards a starter or battery going. That would cause these codes to appear I've read.
