My CEL came on today. I have the GM Stage 2 kit and a GM Performance Exhaust. So, i broke out the manual and it said that it had to do with my emissions. But, I took the car down to Autozone just in case and they hooke the computer analyzer up to my car and it read "running rich on bank 1." Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it????

naw, only exhaust, thats why im a little confounded

 

dont' worry about it. stage 2 runs rich. it's nothing to worry about.

 

check your air filter, just check the intake connections up to the throttle body.

 

as long as everything is tight, and the car is running fine, it's nothing to worry about.

That's the RICH DTC . It shouldt come on even with Stage 2. Does it smell like fuel or "run" rich? (rough idle,black smoke etc) Since this code is based on what the pre-cat oxygen sensor is doing , first make sure your oxygen sensor wiring is properly connected and isnt shorted or anything and that the sensor is correctly installed and torqued.

If you have a scanner or Interceptor it would be usefull to know if the HO2S1 sensor is "pinned" above 450mv at all times or just under certain driving conditions etc. Instead of wasting money to just replace the precat HO2, you could also just SWAP the pre and post cat sensors to see what happens as they are identical.
