Angry CEL w/ Exaust

Had a 3 inch downpipe with highflow cat installed and about 100 miles later the CEL light cam on. No code came up oon the display. Does anyone know if this is just the car retuning itself and will eventually go out. Anyway, I am going to have the code check today after work and see what it says. The sensors are all still in the same places. Is it possible that the cat is flowing too much. And the car doesn't think it is there? This sux. I'll let everyone know what happens

If the sensor is damaged, the cataylist is on backwords or not enough pressure is being delivered before the cataylist it will throw a code. You have a o2 simulator on it or is it in the stock unit?

ok first off how is the new down pipe? Seem like more power?

Is it the CEL or the MIL light? It's my understanding the MIL light is more geared toward emission failures.

it still feels about the same, maybe a little bit peppier. But I still have the stock muffler. I am waiting on one that I like. But it is the small orange engine light on the dash. Not sure what the MIL light looks like.

The CEL is a little icon of an engine, the MIL is a little gear I believe ( i have not seen the MIL yet)

If it's the MIL that means there is something wrong with the emissions system.

Pull the code! a CEL light on its own could be anything after you've worked on the car. Or it could be something unrelated.

Are you 100% positive you don't have an exhaust leak?

Yeah you can get a CEL from just unhooking the battery on the car.
