With a 3" downpipe he would lose a bit of hp, since he is stock, and thats the last thing he wants.

Said he wanted 14s so not looking for a tvs super tuner.

I agree though, op, save up more money first.

yea your right but he would gain a better mid range power band. plus he still has the stock exhaust with a muffler so it wont be that bad.

you hit 14.7 @ 96 mph..... you want to get into the low 14s (14.4-14.0). what were your 60' times?

cheapest mod out there is the Driver Mod. learn to drive it at the track. practice. stock Cobalt SS/SC will run low 14s all day if you can drive.

after that.... intake & exhaust. search the Classified Section. if you can't find a cheap cold air intake... go to pep boys, buy a cone filter & do the air box mod (there's an how-to thread). for exhaust.... the 2 biggest restrictions is the factory cat & muffler. once again search the Classified Section, you can find a cheap downpipe. if you don't have the money for a real cat-back exhaust, just have a local exhaust shop replace the stock muffler with a performance one.

if that doesn't satisfy you, then go with a stage kit from either OTTP or ZZP

good luck
