if everything is done right it wil lgo away, but jsut diconnect the negative battery terminal and let it sit for a while to reset the cars computer,

if it comes back on you didnt do something right, and get the codes read.

you hit a dog? is it ok?

the low coolant light will immediately go off if you fill the coolant to the proper level. check engine light should also go off immediately if the problem is fixed.

check engine light will not go off right away. your best bet it so get it scanned at the dealer. who knows nothing else was damaged a sensor wire could have been clipped you never know. if it is a code that is in relation with the radiator then it can be cleared or could tell him something else isnt wrong. you could even go to a side show and have them scan the code.

Might be for a sensor up front, not just the coolant level. Most codes will clear within 3 ignition cycles, if they will clear by themselves.

i dont have a cobalt but the only sensor is the one in the radiator or sometimes in the block the thermistor which is the temp sensor and obviously the coolant level sensor which i didnt kno cobalts had but that would be on the resivior for those cars? or else where theres also the ambiant air sensor which usually is infront of the radiator and thats for the cars that have the ouside temp somehwere on the dash or the mirror for your convinance on outside tempt hat would throw a code if damaged

i dont think its a sensor i mean it bent the radiator a little and it leaked a little fluid i stopped and it was leakin a little the temp was like 190 so it didnt over heat i removed the front clip and took out the radiator and heat exchanger put new ones in and there isnt a sensor up front and it didnt bend them enuff to hit ne thing else wasnt a big dog it was like a beagle or something

yea thats wierd. usually for something like that it would need to see a certian drive cycle for it go off. i mean if its still on depending on how much u drove it after u fixed it id get it scanned. if it was dripping a little it would set a code right away. it had to have been pissing to through a code. well actually then again it is a pressurized system so once a hole is made everything gets all wierd. id get it scanned. anyone you know work at a dealer??? even if its a mitsu or subaru any dealers scan tool can scan codes. and disconnecting the battery yea it will reset it but if it was me id like to know the code...for all you know it could be one of those wierd things where when that happened the check engine light came on for something else. doubt it but hey who knows.
