Check out this Desired Customs Ion RL

YES! that is a Centrifugal Supercharger stuffed against the fender!...i never thought this was possible due to lack of space...but that looks down right easy!...i wonder if anything had been changed to the engine position?

how much bigger are the Ion Redline engine compartments then the cobalts??

cuz that would be an awesome upgrade...and cheap!

a procharger would be awesome for 2.0 people looking to upgrade from the stock charger and even more amazing (and FAR cheaper then a turbo kit) for the 2.2, 2.4 people

A regular S/C looks better (polished) but thats still sweet, anything different is cool.

That's a 2.2 Ion coupe, and an ugly one at that.

I'd wager that car runs like ****... the 'charger was probably just popped on for show... sure, it looks cool... but unfortunately you 2.2 guys still lack tuning... good idea, good execution, but the inability to tune properly kinda negates the whole thing.

I dont doubt it runs , Dawn @ street grafitti sill has the STS rear turbo on the 05 2.2 Cobalt they have . Pretty sure its tuned with a mafT and nowhere near its tru potential .

A centrifugal supercharger is basically the same type of pump as the compressor side of a turbocharger, but is mechanically driven off the crankshaft instead of by exhaust gas. Internal gearing steps up the spin speed, and gives a distinctive whistling sound, that most drivers enjoy hearing, but the centrifugal supercharger must be classified as noisy.

....as opposed to our supercharger that just speeds up the air and doesnt actually compress it .

Sneaky- seeing the support ribs on the pulley side , that definately a procharger .
