Check Your Cruise Control, Stage 2 UPDATE

I just got the Stage 2 Update tune and noticed my Cruise doesn't work anymore I use it all the time.

Wondering if anyone else with the Stage 2 UPDATE noticed this, the cruise worked fine with the original Stage 2 flash.

Ted.

I hardly ever use my cruise control, but I have had no problems since getting my stage 2 kit installed.

Ive had the same problem - twice actually. The dealer tells me its from riding the clutch. Apparently theres a sensor that is tripped as soon as you touch the clutch pedal - so if inbetween shifts you dont move your foot off the pedal (I did this for a while) it will trip an error code - P0833 or something to that effect - which for some reason doesnt trip the check engine light, the only thing it does is disable your cruise because the car is confused and thinks the clutch is slightly depressed all the time. Disconnect your battery for 5 minutes - that should reset the code and your cruise whould work. From now on try to take your foot completely off the clutch when your drive and that should fix the problem - it fixed mine.

And yes, for some reason the problem only appeared for me after I got stage 2.

Ted,

Try holding the button down to see if it works while you're holding it. I had the problem that the mechanism inside just got stuck. My cruise would work while holding it down, just not if I let it go. After playing around with it a bit I was able to get it unstuck and functioning again. If it doesn't work at all, it may be what he's saying ^

Good luck though!

EDIT: Also, let us know how you make out tuning that beast. I still plan on trying to get together with you in the spring/summer. Could we work a deal out so that, instead of you just welding a sensor in for the wideband, I purchase a wideband and we install it before doing the tuning? Let me know. If you want, I can shoot you my e-mail address again.

CPS is what iv had replaced about 3 times, its right under the pedal, you can check it your self to see if any wires are loose or the unit fell off completely like mine. warrantee covered it all but it was just the clutch position sensor for me 3 times so it might be for you too. the yellow light would turn on and whne you hit the set button it would just flash cruise engaged but not actually hold it

Real good, I picked up 20 ft. lb torque below 4800 rpm, made the air fuel flat like a table at 11.8:1 and got rid of the bucking on light accleration.

HP Tuners Rules. Then again it is only as good as the tuner

You cocky SOB...

I can't wait until I can afford to come get tuned by you. I want to experiment w/ my 1 step colder plugs and 2.8. See how low we can get the IDC while keeping a good A/F Ratio.
