Well today I was curious and took it to my local Chevrolet repair shop and had the car scanned with the Tech 2 Chevy scan tool. It came up with like six codes, one of which was a clutch pedal code??? Anyways, the others were for the egr system and the catalyst system. So the guy checked my fusebox, I had a small simple fuse burnt out. Fired up the Scan tool, deleted my codes, and it cleared all my egr codes and my car has no stutter at all anymore, gets better mileage, and idles smoother.

I've been saving hundreds of dollars because I thought this was going to be a thousand dollar fix and it turns out it was $31.80.

Crazy.

It's good to know though that there isn't a damn thing wrong with my cobalt!!

How'd you get an EGR code on an LSJ?

I'm still wondering about that EGR code. How does one get an EGR code on an LSJ?

P0102 Nightmare

Almost 20yrs later and these forum pages keep the cobalt alive yet again ! Car was bucking in each gear and couldn’t quite diag. New intake , cleaned blower, and cleaned pipes and it still ran like ***. Searched through endless threads to find this is all because of a fuse xD
