u wouldnt have the same power if the cat was horribly clogged, look at the boost gauge is it reading higher then normal? also if it was a bad cat u would have a dtc from the rear o2

dezzie are you gm stage II? if so your gonna blow black smoke because gm has it running so rich. If your cat was clogged your car would be really quiet and fall on its face at about 3500rpms...

If your getting black smoke, thats rich, which is how the car is from the factory. GM Stage 2 is also very rich. Only thing thats going to fix that is leaning it out. GM runs it rich to keep the engine safe and to keep EGTs down. A better solution is to lean it out and run alky, you will make more power and long term you dont have near the internal dirt build up inside the engine.

If your cat is clogged you will notice much higher than normal boost pressures and possibly a code

Yep I would say its a bit rich. Pretty much all cars run a little rich from factory for a safety cushion

What code is thrown when it occurs? The P0420 one?? Just to know if its the usual code you get after installing an aftermarket cat... Cuz my OTTP high flow cat is damaged too... I just can hear it at certain RPM (vvvvrrrrrrrrrr).
