Clutch questions

i was going to buy a GMPP clutch but its to damn expensive. $850 at my local dealer. so i'm looking for cheaper way out with the quality and durability.

im looking at this clutch
EXEDY NEW CLUTCH KIT 04-07 SATURN ION REDLINE 2.0L SC on eBay.ca (item 400059045934 end time 21-Apr-11 13:57:14 EDT)

but its way cheep but it it will do what i want ill still buy it. i need something that gonna hold up to a stage 2 kit and for a long time. i'm having my stage 2 kit installed next week and my stock clutch isn't gonna hold. any advice would be great.

thanks
Justin

Get the GMPP one from crate engine depot. Why wouldn't your stock clutch hold stage 2? Is it slipping already?

i have had a 2.9" pullied tvs with e85 on mine, it held up until just a little bit ago. the GMPP clutch is one of the best deals you can get on a clutch for this car. get it as a kit at crateenginedepot.com for around 300ish, get a new flywheels or have yours resurfaced, get all new bolts, and the new throw out bearing will be included in the kit. either do it yourself or pay someone else

unless that price you quoted from the dealer is the installed price...

no, the servise and parts desk is seperate at my dealer, i just handed him part number and asked for prices.

yeah, slips a bit, since i've found it slip i have been going a little easier on it. its not bad now with winter tires on because there no traction at all but with my 18's on coming from first to second hard it will just rev and burn, which i only done once or twice and i dont want to do it anymore haha.

edit: theres 67,000 KM on my car now.

Don't short shift and floor it before letting the clutch out on the 1-2.
