Clutch Slipping?

I have a automatic CTS, and my dad just bought a CTS-V about a month ago so that is my only true experience with a stick tranny. Altho i drive the v alot. And im pretty smooth now with it. But i read on alot of these forums that in the ss/sc, the clutch is slipping? especially when i read about track times? what does that exactly mean? Is it just a bad shift or what?....Thank you in advance

it basically means that the clutch isn't capable of holding the power and it gives a bit

Oh ok. So then you would just have to get a upgraded clutch? then that would eliminate the slippage?

you got it, a stage 2+ would most likely do it. the slippage doesn't happen on every car though.

stock clutch is fine i wish every one would stop blaming there promblems on it. its the clutch master cyl thats acting the fool. What ever though this is my last comment on it. I don't really care any more. But I ask this for all the bad clutch stories and the peopele going to staged clutches where are any of the photos of what the stock clutch looked like why it wouldn't hold anylonger? Half the members here wouldn't know what a used up clutch looked like even if they held one in there hand.

no the gm stage 2 upgrade has nothing to do with the clutch, it's a performance package. clutches are sold in stages which represent their clamping force basically.

Is the Clutch Stages kit from GM? or is it aftermarket?

they're aftermarket. a company called Spec and Clutchmasters make staged clutches for our cars. i hope more come out that are cheaper tho, they can be pretty pricey.
