Clutch is SLIPPING!.....Help
Okay I think that this problem has been talked about before put sometimes when I am shifting hard the clutch will slip and it will just rev straight to the redline. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem? Thanx
they will laugh at you ^^
stop doing it.
when you do that you glaze the **** out of your clutch.
and that is what is CAUSING it to slip.
the most common culprit is the 1st to 2nd shift.
Generally what happens is you floor it in first and spin most of the gear.
Now your speedometer is reading maybe 25, but really your car is probably only doing 15. due to spin.
now suddenly you hard shift to second.....in a gear where that nice healthy 25 would put you at a middle rpm range, and your clutch normally would grab and go.
but no. your sitting at 6500rpm, shifting fast to second.....and all of a sudden you find traction and your engine needs to be down at about 2grand RPM because your actually going way to slow for 2nd gear.
now your clutch says "no thanks" and doesnt want to play.
in which case you hit redline....and instead of tire smoke. your smoking your clutch plate.
which means next time you do this. it will be worse.
Start shifting at 3 grand plus on your tach EVERY shift. EVERYWHERE you go.
even daily driving. it will help avoid slipping and glazing, and over time your clutch may right it self from the damage it has suffered.
i also STRONGLY suggest you never, ever, shift to second, unless you know for SURE you are maxed out in first, with traction.

read this. its helped alot of people.
and please people. stop assuming that the dealer has to fix a wear item, that you wore out.
it gives everyone else a real tough time when they go to the dealership, cuz dealerships have given out clutches like tictacs....and
their head offices crack down on it.

haha yeah i remember when mine started slippin when i was shifting at redline, I took it to the dealer and they were like huh.... it doesnt slip for us...... so i waited a while and tried again and they said it doesnt slip for us, SO i ended up replacing it with a Spec Stage 2
bah forget getting another clutch. take yours out, grab a phone book and call your local clutch re-builders. they can get some kickass puck material and make that thing stick. what i did. 250 bucks FTW
