On our SS we bout additional warranty from dealer.

Exterior and Interior is covered. along with perma plate.
Tires and Rims are covered. I caught a flat and they simply gave me a new pirelli about 2 weeks ago. I think when my tires go bald i can get a new one too, but i havent tested this theory yet.
And i Selected Lojack because i live in a bad area.

They also had life time oilchanges but i wasnt thinking and didnt get it.

Well as long as the tube on the air box wasn't submerged its possible the car was still running and is not too f'd up..... if the car wasn't completely under water than that could explain it

Warranty covers water damage? and our tires are covered under the same warranty? I don't beleave I have ever heard that before, must be a special american GM warranty and what do they cover as of tires, the tire wear? "my tires are worn to the cord" GM service advisor "oh ok thats a comon problem but don't worry we will get you some new ones because there covered under warranty"

The bigger question here is, why would you tell someone who doesnt even know you exist you dislike them?

Im going to be the bigger person here, and keep the thread about how the car got thrown into a lake and not about how much of a geek you are. kthx

myspace..... dont have one or go on it, but whatever you were trying to prove there, good luck .... waiting for the details now on your "cousin" ss/sc in lake running for 4 hours under water, and only 500 bucks of damage or whatever, man i am on the edge of my seat

This story is crazy and you guys know it. IT"S IMPOSSIBLE! Later all.
i assume youre referring to me...
i dont think it is possible either, i just was pointing out that an air pocket is the ONLY way it could happen for any amount of time. just like a human can breathe underwater when there is an airpocket somewhere. but again, very unlikely.

anyway, the anti hydrolock feature on these cars does not make them run when submerged. the system is designed to shut the car off at the exact moment the car senses water entry. not little vapors from rain, but significant amounts more. because of this, the car DID NOT run under water. it most likely shut off and was still capable of starting when it was retrieved. this is why my engine still worked after the flood.

you know what we need on this site?? a smiley that is waving a flag with the letters "BS" on it. i would use that now if there was one.

what kind of filter does your cousin have that extracts oxygen from water? i need to get one, i want to take my car deep sea diving and havent found the right air filter yet.

the only way the car would still be alive is if the air box was above water...the entire time.

i dont see how GM would cover the interior under warranty, the car was stolen and placed in water, thats an insurance issue. Smae with the electrical issues

well, IF this is true, (Sorry, but very hard to believe) the only thing i can think of is this... now keep in mind that i don't know a whole lot about hydrolocking a car, so this may be totally off... but if a car is submerged in water, no water is being sucked into the engine... when you drive through a 3 foot puddle for example, your throttle body is open and sucking the water into the engine... now, i would assume that if you're not on the throttle everything is pretty tight... makes sense to me i guess

My warranty covers my interior and exterior as well, but it sure as hell wouldn't be covered if it was driven into a lake, or was submerged underwater in a flood. Warranty implies 'manufacturer defects' not some ******* taking a car and trying to be a submarine.

Oh and agree with

The interior warranty which im not even sure he used covers all wear and damage to the interior. and also covers fading of the exterior. Call Courtesy at the Airport Chevrolet in orlando Florida.

They even said if my daughter spills something on the seats i can bring it in and if it cant be cleaned or removed the seat will be replaced. Thats the main reason i bought that because of my kid.

Secondly, i never said the tires were covered under wear. The tires and rims are covered if they are damaged. Such as if a tire goes flat from a nail or if the rim starts to deform or flake. The reason i got this coverage was because EVERYONE on the forum was complaining abuot how their rims were flaking a few months back.( do a search if u think im lying) some were getting it covered by warranty some wernt i thought to myself better safe then sorry. Not to mention these tires are expensive and the coverage only cost 300$ extra on ym vehicle.

Lo jack is a gps security system. it was 700$ but i felt it was worth it.

really now, im 20 years old me and my wife make like $70,000 a year combined, we are both college students, i have a beautiful 2 1/2 year old daughter a brand new ss a brand new GSX R 600 06 about to close on a condo. I dont have any reason to lie about anything. THis isnt even my vehicle im talking about its my cousins.

Its annoying how whenever someone post something, you call BS and then when they show proof everyone has a dick in their mouth. i mean really.
