Cobalt SS or S2000
You would be surprised how cheap it is to insure a C5. It cost me $550 every 6 months to insure the base Vette. Our cars are so expensive because of their reputation(i.e. claims/accidents, driven by the younger crowd).
$550? That's all? Thats's not bad at all. Who do you have insurance with?
Dont know how it works in the US but
Jkennedy and Blackngold, how old are u guys? Jken has a point about the age but thats dependant on the driver just not on a basic assumption of the age of the general mass of corvette owners

I'm 22
It's on both.

Hmmm...Don't know what you're talking about. Before I sold the Vette, both the Cobalt and the Vette cost 1,200 bucks every 6 months to insure. Completely doable for me. I'm shopping for an 02-03 Z06 right now...
After university I hadn't been driving continuously for some time and when I went to buy the SS 9/10 insurance companies wanted 5g's a year for insurance.
Ohhh you're in Canada. Yeah that sucks man...
but I dunno bout buying a cobalt...
Coming from the guy that thinks the SS/SC is better than the s2000 because you can put the extra 15k "saved" in the ss/sc and whoop up on the s2000. You are so gay.
I dare you to go on an s2000 board and then a random car board and say this crap, I suggest you bring some KY for your gay ass because they will bend you over for being a ******* ricer.

Wasey's right I hate to say. The S2000 is a nicer, faster car. True it costs more and is out of our class but its still nicer.
Wow gone already! That was fast.

You can't expect double everything just because your paying double for the car.
The drivetrain isn't the only thing that contributes the high price tag of an S2000.
I didn't see any mention of warranty for either vehicle. Estimated tresale/trade in value.
Powerband location. 2 seater vs 4 seater(?). Convertible.
5-Speed vs 6-Speed transmission. Aftermarket support. etc.
There are more to cars than numbers.
I'm not even gonna touch the appearance/issue.
That's just personal preference and I expect to hear incredibly biased opinions.

But for me, I've been a drag racer my entire life. So Weight/HP for the $$ I can afford is the ONLY important equation I use.
For me, that's about the only thing that matters. That's why I would never purchase an S2000.
well as owner of a s2000 i would said the s2000 is a lot better when it comes to handling, speed, looks, and reliable but thats just me............
Road and track tested a s2k before and did 13.9 on the 1/4 mile, with a top speed of 156 mph, there are way to many after market sh*** for this car (this car is not a drag car, is more like track car)

But for me, "13.9", "14.1", whatever. Still not good enough for meeting MY requirements for $$ well spent. But those are MY rules for how I buy MY cars.
So have fun with your S2000!
My point exactly ...

I raced my buddies S2000 and it was dead even from a dig and I only have engine mounts and air box mod....but his car is way nicer and handles awesome..I mean if him and I both pulled up somewhere....no ones looking at my car ha
