cobalt ss/sc vs c4 vette
for reference. my dad's STOCK 2wd tbss runs 13.5's in the quarter at 102mph. its over 1000lbs heavier than the vette and has the same aerodynamic properties of a brick. put 2 and 2 together
and yes, a c5 is just an ls1. z06's on the other hand...
i would race you any day at the track in a bone stock ls2 vette. from a roll i can see it being a good race, with you possibly winning. but they are not slow by any means.
so if its a c5 z06 its not a c5 anymore? calm the hell down. whats the fastest pass you have made at the track?

heres what we've been talking about on the local track forums.

I wouldn't be so surprised that you whacked those guys. I figure a stock GT stick is going to be high 13's low 14's and the GTO with an auto and tight convertor is going to be in the same ball park. I know what an auto vette will run 'cause that's what I've got, a red C6 LS2, I haven't seen the vette you've raced but I'll say this, getting mine to hoof it with a 2.56 cog and a auto just ain't happening. I've done OK in the 13.5 index but I really need a couple of tenths. A stick C6 will have it's way with me!
Let's see where is that gear catalogue........

hes talking about the night he watched me race, and beat. an '08 stang gt stick, '06 c6 1lz auto, and an '04 gto auto
nvm it got it edited
and not you, but a lot of people on this site fail to realize that racing isn't just ETs, its RTs. ESPECIALLY in heads up racing. and recently out at trp i've been able to pull .070 lights or better. so if you get up against someone that can't do better than a .300....then yeah, you're gonna win

before i've done the most current modding? 13.84@104. since the most recent modding, i dunno. i've only been to the midnight drags and they don't giv eyou slips. its just grudge racing. btw i was trying to edit the other post when the site went down

LOL do not bring up r/t's into the equation now. you are now taking this from what it was (a car vs car argument) and inserting a driver into the equation. i would have never argued to begin with. of course a more experienced racer will have the MAJOR advantage at the drag strip in two similarly matched cars. now you make my point even better. i would GLADLY race you in a showroom stock ls2 auto vette at the strip.
stu i'm bringing reaction time into this because it can make or break a race by anywhere from .001 to .500, not cause of me and the vette. its more to shut the poeple up that say this will be a close race.

Is that why 7 of the top ten fastest bone stock LS3 C6's are A6's with stock gears?
LT1 C4's are high 13 second cars aslong as they're in good running condition. LT4's are mid 13 second car sand should trap 106+. There are no auto LT4's. Every LT4 only came with a 6spd manual.

.....i know this.... whats your point?
take a step back and realize how your argument has changed. you originally said stock ls2 auto vettes were dogs. you said that exact thing, and i said you were wrong. you then said you took some at the track due to a better reaction time basically. see what im getting at?
A stock C6 LS2 auto can run anywhere from 12.70's to 12.90's with a competent driver . My friend's bone stock 98 c5 (just an LS1 lol) auto went 13.2@ 108...... not super fast ..but decent .
OP you should have any problem with that C4 from a roll. From a dig it will be closer . My LT1 Z28/6sp went 13.5@106 with a catback and intake . While thats not FAST.... it wasnt what i would call a pig .

[QUOTE=hatrickstu;4213916]then something is terribly wrong. a stick c5 with a good driver is a mid-high 12 second car at 107+ mph
sorry its a roll race from 40, and 13.1 was his best time
