Now if the Cobalt had the GTO's interior, I would agree that it's much better. But honestly, it's not that much better; it is still cheap and plastic. The custom color inserts, in my opionion, make it marginally better than the SRT-4's.

Bottom line is they are both "Economy"cars and the interior quality shows that. "100X bettter" (10,000% better) is still WAY, WAY, WAY over-exagerated. 25% better is pushing it.

 

Mine has 20,000 lbs of thrust thanx to surplus air craft parts.

Has anyone ever seen the Jet bike that Jay Leno has. The faster it gets moving the more horsepower it makes, thats a cool concept.

I've seen you (or someone else here) say this a few times now and I'm not so sure about that. You seem to be inferring that AWD isn't good for straight line acceleration. I'm not sure why you would think that? I mean, the '91 GMC Syclone has AWD with a turbo 4.3 and that thing is all about straight lines. I should know, my brother races one and has ran 11.3's in the quarter, 0-60 in under 3.5 and is pushing 500 hp after a turbo upgrade.

i think hes refering to the lack of power the evos and stis make from a highway roll......
AWD eats up alot of that power... dont get me wrong, from a dig your pretty much fucked, but its taken numerous STis from a roll before

 

I know a guy with a WRX that dyno'd at 173 HP at the wheels stock, he is way above that now with a lot of mods but in stock form it's very restricted, exhaust wise.

 

 

Well, a few days ago I went and stopped at a Dodge dealership to see what an SRT-4 is all about. Even though I did not drive it, but from sitting in it and looking at it nothing impressed me, it may be somewhat faster but there is no way i'd trade my SS for an SRT-4. I really like my Recaro seats and everything about the car. To me its personal preference and my preference is my SS/SC

 

Next time you're at your favorite Chevy dealership go take a look at the GTO's interior, then go take a look at the Cobalt's interior.

 

What's your point? The GTO looks much better than the SRT4 too... GTO > SS > SRT4.
Most of us are willing to give props to the SRT4 for power, so it's not like we're hating on the thing, just being realistic.

I was going to say "Next time your at your favorite DC dealer, go take a look at the ______, then go take a look at the SRT4" but even after browsing Chrysler.com and Dodge.com, I couldn't find any interiors that I liked enough to fill in the blank. The 300C looks ok, but it's not any nicer than the SS either.

 

Hey buddy sorry to tell you but Chevy is not my favorite, I love them ive only had Chevy’s but they are not my favorites. You can’t compare a GTO to an SS, there is a big gap in price sorry to tell you, that why were comparing an SS to an SRT nearly the same price and performance, but not looks.

Don’t even try to make it look like im favoring the SS over the SRT because I have one, it is you who are favoring others over it.

I love the GTO I would take a GTO over an SS, but again you cant compare them b/c one starts at 32g’s and the other at 21g’s.

Here I got one, go look at the interior of Escalade then take a good long look at the interior of a pinto!

MANY MANY, things use plastic that doesn’t make it cheap, what do you want leather on a button that you will use every day, or maybe glass like the windows?? They use plastic b/c it is durable and it actually looks good if you keep it clean so don’t go trashing a car b/c it has plastic every damn car has plastic!

 

I'm not arguing price. I'm just saying that the Cobalt interior isn't THAT much better than the Neon interior. Everyone talks about the Cobalt interior being "100X" better than the Neon interior, when it is at best marginally better. Period.

Now if the Cobalt had the GTO's interior, then I could agree with the comments about the interior being MUCH better than the Neons. That's the point I'm trying to make.

Saying the Cobalt's interior is 100x better than the Neon's is like saying the SRT-4 is 100x quicker than the Cobalt SS's. Simply put, neither statement is true. However, replace the "100x" with the word "marginally" and now you have two true statements.

 

No you really dont, replacing "100x" with "marginally" doesnt work b/c its not true, simply put its better you are the only person i have ever met that can even say that the srt-4 and SS interior are nearly equal, and htat is what ur saying by using the word "marginally"

I think what eveyone is trying to say about AWD is this.

The only reason Evolution's, WRX's and WRX STi's are considered threats are due to the fact that with AWD they can cut superior 60ft and 1/8 mile times. After that they are dead weight, thus why there trap speeds compared to 60ft and 1/8 are nothing special.

A Lamborghini has enough HP that it doesn't matter.

stock evo's and sti's DONT have that much power from a roll....its the races from a stop that they shine in...... and this is true for stock cars, modified, it can be quite different
