hey guys i threw the code #496 high purge flow fault whats wrong with my car

it could be a bad purge soleniod, the wiring to it, the hoses to it routed wrong, a bad pcm, a bad fuel tank pressure sensor. As you can see this would be a hard one to diagnose without the right tools. I'd take it in.

yea every time i fill up the car shuts off

What the hell this is like the 10th thread in a month for this problem. I never heard of this happening untill recently. It seems like most people are ending up with debris in the hose for the breather on the fuel tank.
