Code Question

P0420 Catalyst System Low Efficiency ECM, PCM

Could this affect the way the car runs? is this something to worry about right now? I plan on fixing it later on. thanks

That means that you either removed your Cat, or it is shot. If you did not remove your Cat, then show SERIOUS concern about that code, and go gut it out. If you just took your cat off and you are getting that code, it will pull some power if your car is still set to default to the COT (Catalytic Over Temperature) Tables. Intense Stage 4+ does not use those tables, all others default to either 80% or 90% power.

yeah all I did was take out the cat. I was thinking about just getting an 02 simulater for an easy fix. I was looking at it lastnight it looks a plug in from and a F-body 02 sensor and I was looking at a simulater for a GTP from intense. Im getting ready to try to contect them to see if it will work.

Why not just get the code shut off by someone with HPTuners?
